According to the world famous business magazine Forbes, the Dallas Cowboys are the NFL’s most valuable team for the 11th consecutive year. It is also the most valuable sports franchise in the world. Forbes has also mentioned that the worth of the team has raised to 14% from the previous year, reaching $4.8 billion.
Apart from the Dallas Cowboys, other teams that achieves higher ranking in the list of NFL’s top sports franchise are the New England Patriots ($3.7 billion), the New York Giants ($3.3 billion), the Washington Redskins ($3.1 billion) and the San Francisco 49ers ($3.05 billion).
As per the Forbes evaluation, the average value of 32 teams of NFL is worth $2.52 billion, which is 8% more as compared to the last year. The teams gained most of the profit from the revenue generated due to the television contracts, stadium renovations and new stadiums. The income of the NFL team is $3.2 billion, which is $500 million more than the combined income of MLB, NHL and NBA teams.
There is only one team that has same value as that of last year i.e. the New York jets with $2.75 billion. Atlanta Falcons worth $2.475 billion is the team that had the highest increase in value(16%). This value has increased because of the recently established Mercedes-Benz Stadium situated in Atlanta and the sponsorship dollars committed.
Globally, according to the rankings published by Forbes in July, the Dallas Cowboys are followed by New York Yankees, a baseball team worth $3.7 billion and the European soccer giants: Manchester United($3.69 billion), FC Barcelona ($3.64 billion) and Real Madrid($3.58 billion).
